1944 Universal Carrier MK2*
*Under Restoration*

Our Canadian MK2 carrier came to us from Brian Asbury in Ontario, Canada back in September 2007. This vehicle was built as a part of the 2609 Welsh Guards contract in July 1944 but, obviously, never left Canada. It shows evidence of post war military use where it appears to have been fitted with 3" mortar stowage brackets.
The vehicle was later used in forestry work where the front armour was cut, like many.
Originally part dismantled by another collector in Canada, it arrived to us almost entirely complete, but with everything thrown in the back like a skip. Even the engine came completely dismantled and thrown in the back. Not a piece was missing.
This is a currently ongoing restoration with aims to complete within the next few years. This page will be updated as we progress
The engine rebuild was completed back in September 2014 by the v8 whisperer, Martyn. Currently in need of a replacement water pump must more or less ready to fit.
