1945 Daimler Dingo MK3

Our Daimler Dingo arrived with us back in 2014 from the outskirts of Paris where it had been restored some years prior.
Upon tracing its ownership history, it was discovered that this vehicle had been recovered from Crook Brothers yard in Haughton near Preston, Lancashire.
When the vehicle arrived with us, there were fuel related issues, charging issues, gearbox issues, the issue of the colour...
The gearbox was eventually removed and sent to the Netherlands to Marc van Aalderen, the pre-select whisperer.
While the vehicle was in pieces awaiting the re-fit of the gearbox, it was fully rewired.
Following the re-fitment of the engine and gearbox, the smoke dischargers were removed and the vehicle moved into the workshop to be painted.
Over the winter of 2020-2021, the dingo was stripped of its post-war smoke discharger installations and reverted to 1945 specification
The vehicle does still have outstanding cosmetic jobs including final fitment of the WS19 set. Installation of the correct armoured antenna mounts and the removal of all additional lighting/reflectors.
.

The dingo participated in the Liberation Task Force 30 Corps commemorations in September 2024.
While at base camp in Leopoldsburg, we experienced a failure to the dynamo bearings that plagued us with charging issues and overheating for the remainder of the journey.
Once back in the UK, the dynamo was overhauled and radiator core cleaned.
